The Joke Gallery (2018—)
In 2018, I had an idea to begin a public project that invites participants to simply handwrite and submit a joke. My goal was to create an accessible platform that connects people through a shared sense of humour to spread a little more laughter in the world. I launched a website with a submission form, designed and printed several hundred postcards with instructions, and left them in coffee shops, on park benches, and other public areas. I was curious whether passerby would notice my cards and would express any interest in taking part in the project. To my delight, submissions quickly came pouring in and an international, online community of smiles and silliness formed.
